Introduction/Mission - 

The Outreach and Event Planning Committee promotes stakeholder awareness of Venice community issues and participation in Venice Neighborhood Council activities, organizes quarterly Stakeholder meetings and special events, and performs outreach to Stakeholders.

Welcome to the Outreach Committee! We’re a dynamic and diverse team that meets monthly to brainstorm creative ways to connect with our Venice community. Meeting days and times can shift a bit to accommodate our members’ busy schedules, and during the holiday season or periods where we are participating in major Outreach events and Town Halls, we may forgo our monthly meeting to focus our energy on being out in the community.

The VNC is your vehicle for making a difference in your community. This month we invite you to join us on Monday, November 10th, at 6:30 pm​ on Zoom for our Outreach monthly meeting.

At this meeting we will be putting forward a motion required by BONC, and a motion to adopt additional holidays to acknowledge that are not currently on the City’s approved holiday list.  We will also explore updates to the Standing Rules for the Outreach Committee’s duties and responsibilities to reflect the times and how our community engages today. This process will take time and input from many voices, so we welcome all stakeholders to participate as we define ways for our Outreach to be most effective.

Additionally, we will be discussing strategies to support both the Land Use & Planning Committee (LUPC) along with the Community Plan Update ADHOC Committee and two potential Town Halls suggested by stakeholders. 🌞🌴🏄‍♀️

Agenda Requests

The Outreach & Event Planning conducts its business by reviewing and prioritizing agenda requests for Board action (generally either in the form of a motion or letter) or announcements submitted by stakeholders, governmental entities and other interested individuals and organizations. Outreach & Event Planning Committee has the discretion to postpone a request, refer it to a specific committee for review and recommendation, treat it as an announcement or consider and resolve it as a non-Board administrative matter.
