Meeting Time & Location:

Welcome to the Outreach Committee!

We’re a dynamic, diverse team that meets monthly to brainstorm creative ways to connect with our Venice community. October was filled with opportunities to engage with stakeholders of all ages. The Outreach Team had a great time representing the VNC at these events across Venice:

Saturday, October 11, 2025 – Abbot Kinney Re-Dedication of the LGBTQ Continental Crosswalk
Saturday, October 25, 2025 – Penmar Park’s Spooky Space Invaders Halloween Event in East Venice
Thursday, October 30, 2025 – Westminster Early Education Fall Parent/Teacher Resource Faire
Friday, October 31, 2025 – Oakwood Recreation Center’s Halloween Village Festival
Saturday, November 1, 2025 – Venice Pavilion at the Beach: [25]AZZ-IS REBEL.JAZZ.FESTIVAL

Meeting dates and times sometimes shift to accommodate our members’ busy schedules. During the holiday season, or when we’re focused on major Outreach events and Town Halls, we may forgo a regular meeting to put our energy into being out in the community.

The Venice Neighborhood Council (VNC) is your vehicle for making a difference in your community. Join us for our next Outreach Committee meeting on Monday, November 10, at 6:30 pm on Zoom.

This month’s agenda includes:

  • Exploring Town Hall and event options for Spring 2026.
  • Discussing Outreach collaboration with the Land Use & Planning Committee (LUPC) and the Community Plan Update Ad Hoc Committee to create visibility around upcoming projects and public input opportunities.
  • Reviewing holiday observances to consider adopting additional cultural and community holidays beyond the City’s approved list. We’ll be discussing potential survey ideas to gather stakeholder input.
  • Presenting the 2022 BONC Digital Communications Policy for compliance and discussion about formally naming a Content Creator and Administrator, as other Neighborhood Councils have done.
  • Beginning a review of the Outreach Committee’s Standing Rules to update our duties and responsibilities in ways that reflect how our community engages today. This will be an evolving, collaborative process, and we invite all voices to contribute.

The Outreach Committee welcomes energetic individuals who are passionate about engaging with our Venice community. Come share your ideas, help at local events, and be part of shaping the future of our neighborhood! 🌞🌴🏄‍♀️

Agenda Requests

The Outreach & Event Planning conducts its business by reviewing and prioritizing agenda requests for Board action (generally either in the form of a motion or letter) or announcements submitted by stakeholders, governmental entities and other interested individuals and organizations. Outreach & Event Planning Committee has the discretion to postpone a request, refer it to a specific committee for review and recommendation, treat it as an announcement or consider and resolve it as a non-Board administrative matter.
