TONIGHT - Venice's FREE Online Emergency Preparedness Training!
4th Virtual Training Session is TONIGHT, WEDNESDAY, MAY 26th @ 7pm!
TOPIC: Two-Way Radio Operations

After a major disaster, phone/internet service will be down or backed up - you will need two-way radios!
After a major disaster, phone/internet service will be down or hopelessly backed up. To gain “situational awareness” in your neighborhood and beyond, you will need two-way radios. Examples include: amateur/HAM radios, FRS (Family Radio Service), GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service), CB (Commercial/Business band), and MURS (Multi-Use Radio Service). You will learn about these radios and systems used for post-disaster communications.

Instructor: Philip Jamtaas, CERT South Bureau Radio Team Leader.

NOTE: Although we do suggest you secure two-way radios as soon as possible, it is okay if you do not have a two-way radio for this module. We will be discussing examples of the different types of radios and their uses during the session.

We hope to bring our neighbors together to help Venice become a disaster-resilient community.
***You do not need any previous training to participate.
