Public Hearing: LOCAL COASTAL DEVELOPMENT PERMITS (CDPs) FOR VENICE

A public hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2008, 6:00 p.m. regarding Establishment of overnight parking districts (OPDs) within five separate areas (districts) in the community of Venice.

The five OPDs are as follows:

OPD No. 520 (CDP No. 08-07) – Oxford Triangle Area
OPD No. 521 (CDP No. 08-08) – Presidents Row Area
OPD No. 522 (CDP No. 08-09) West Venice Area
OPD No. 523 (CDP No. 08-10) – East Venice Area
OPD No. 526 (CDP No. 80-1 1) – Villa Marina Area

The locations of the OPDs are within the Coastal Zone. The City of Los Angeles issues local CDPs for most developments (both private and public) in the Coastal Zone under the authority of the California Coastal Act [Public Resources Code Section 30600(b)] and the Los Angeles Municipal Code (Section 12.20.2). A public hearing has been scheduled so that the applicant, adjacent property owners and occupants, and other interested persons may speak or submit written information on coastal issues pertaining to the project/development.

The hearing is to discuss coastal issues only.

Coastal issues, as discussed in the Public Resources Code (Sections 30200 to 30265.5), include public access, recreation, marine environment, land resources, development, and industrial development.

The public hearing is for all five CDP applications. Refer to the attached agenda for specifics regarding the hearing. All written comments received by 500 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2008 will be considered prior to a decision on the case. Written comments should be sent to:
