1. Board of Officers Meeting (May 16)

Where: Westminster Elementary School, 1010
Abbot Kinney Blvd
When: 7 PM - 9:30 PM

Some of the issues the GRVNC Board of Officers will 
be considering at Tuesday's meeting are:

 - Approval of 2006/2007 Budget
 - Ratification of four committee chairs (see below)
 - Overnight Parking District Petition Text and Permit Types

2. New Committee Chairs Appointed

The GRVNC Executive Committee has appointed 
four new ad-hoc committee chairs.  These appointments
must be ratified by the full GRVNC Board on Tuesday
May 16th.  

If you have an interest in these committees
or would like to volunteer to help the committee, please
come on Tuesday to meet the nominated chairs.

The committees and appointed chairs are:

 - Bill Farhood as chair of the renamed 
“SR90 / Admiralty Way Widening Committee”

 - Kelley Willis as chair of the "Grievance Committee"

 - Sylviane Dungan as chair of the “Arts Committee” 

 - CJ Cole and LJ Carusone as co-chairs of the
“Stakeholder Survey Committee”

3. Abbott Kinney Lighting District Processing

A new lighting district is being processed for the 
area from Abbott Kinney Boulevard to Narcisus Court;
Narcisus Court, from Venezia Avenue to Victoria Avenue; 
and Abbot Kinney Boulevard, from 80' W/O Victoria Avenue
to Victoria Avenue

4. LA Neighborhood Initiative Community Forum (May 18)

2006 LANI COMMUNITY FORUM
Thursday, May 18, 2006
8:00 am - 2:00 PM
USC Davidson Conference Center
3415 S. Figueroa Street
Los Angeles, CA 90089

Everyone is invited to this FREE event where Los Angeles area 
leaders, community developers and residents come together to 
gain tools and discuss ways to revitalize their communities!
Gloria Jeff, newly appointed General Manager for the City of 
Los Angeles, Department of Transportation will 
be the keynote speaker.

5. Public Hearing on Loss of Rental Housing 

A Public hearings will be held by the Housing, Community & 
Economic Development and Planning & Land Use Management 
Council Committees.  The joint hearings will receive 
testimony from all stakeholders and experts (city departments, 
tenant advocates, property rights advocates, the public, 
and academics) relative to the loss of rental and 
rent-controlled units to condominium conversions, 
demolitions, and new for sale units in Los Angeles. 

The meeting closest to Venice will be held here:
 
When: Monday, May 22nd @ 6pm
Where: Walgrove Elementary School
1630 Walgrove Ave. (Mar Vista)
