8. Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services Meeting Schedule

Dear Neighborhood Council Board Members,

I am writing you on behalf of Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services
(LA NHS) to reintroduce the organization and to offer our services to
the residents in the neighborhoods you represent. LA NHS is a non profit
organization with over 20 years of experience serving Los Angeles
neighborhoods. If you are interested to learn more about our services
and programs our outreach team is available to make presentations on site.

LA NHS is in the business of improving people’s lives. We build stronger
neighborhoods in partnership with local residents, the business
community and government. LA NHS mission is to get families into homes
and to keep them in their homes. Our services include financial
education, affordable loan products, construction management assistance,
neighborhood revitalization and leadership development.

We are currently emphasizing our Sustain the Gain Workshop Series to
assist existing homeowners to maintain their homes and improve their
overall financial health. This is one of many ways that LA NHS is
working to protect and serve families from predatory lenders in our
community (see attached class schedule for more information).

Many of our clients are seniors who need assistance in maintaining their
homes. Seniors are often on a low to moderate fixed income and are in
need of assistance in rehabilitating their homes, counseling in reverse
mortgage, or in need of refinancing because of predatory lenders. LA NHS
has partnered with the City of Los Angeles Housing Department, to
provide assistance to senior homeowners (please call Donna Reino at
(213) 381-2862 Ext. 135 to learn more about the senior home
rehabilitation program).

If you have questions or if you would like to schedule a presentation
call me at (213) 381-2862 Ext. 111.

Sincerely,

Nina Kihlman
