2. Town Hall Meeting (Feb 25)

Mark your Calendar! The Disaster Preparedness and Land Use and Planning
Committees are organizing a Town Hall Meeting for Saturday February
25th, starting
at approximately 9:30 AM.

Speakers are still being finalized but will include
Disaster Preparedness issues from 9:30 AM to 11 AM
followed by speakers on Land Use and Planning Issues.
Details are still being worked out and we welcome
your suggestions.

The Town Hall will take place at:

  Venice High School (Auditorium)
  13000 Venice Blvd
  The parking entrance is south/east of the auditorium off of Venice Blvd.

Please send any suggestions for speakers to:
  disaster@grvnc.org and lupc@grvnc.org

Volunteers would also be greatly appreciated.

2. Land Use and Planning Committee meeting (Feb 1)

What: GRVNC Land Use and Planning Committee
When: Wednesday, February 1, 2006 6:30PM
Where: Westminster Elementary School (auditorium)

 - the RAD/MTA Project has been continued until the March

City Planning Commission meeting.  The LUPC is scheduling
a public hearing to review the final draft of RAD's
proposal for February 15, at Westminster Elementary,
1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd.

3. Bylaws Committee Meeting February Schedule

The Bylaws Committee has scheduled a series of meetings to review
and recommend changes to the GRVNC Bylaws.  These meetings will occur
throughout February; check http://www.grvnc.org/event for calendar updates.

4. Call for Volunteers

The GRVNC committees and Board are looking for community volunteers to
help. Please email info@grvnc.org if you have time to help with one of
these projects.

- work on a printed newsletter to report on GRVNC activities/issues to
stakeholders (Outreach)
- work on brochure to explain purpose and function of a neighborhood
council and mission of the GRVNC (Outreach)
- assist District Reps to contact stakeholders and groups in their area
(Outreach)
- assist Executive Committee to preparation hand outs at Board Meetings
(Excom)
- help with Town Hall Meeting (Disaster Prep / LUPC)
- help prepare for September 2006 Board Elections (Elections)

5. Grievance Received

The GRVNC Executive Committee received a stakeholder grievance from Mr.
Rick Selan and referred this matter to the Rules and Elections
Committee to consider at their Jan 24 meeting.  The Rules and Elections
Committee meeting minutes are available here:

This item has been referred to the February 21 GRVNC Board meeting.
