1. GRVNC Special Election Meeting Results
Thank you all for coming out to support your GRVNC Board at the January
17 election. Also a special thank you to our election volunteers Joe
Murphy and Dante Cacace for their hard work during the special election.
The results of the two elections are as follows:
* Confirm or replace Susan Papadakis to fill the vacant District 2 Board
seat. -- CONFIRMED!
Results, 105 ballots total:
Confirm - 90 ballots
Reject - 5 ballots (Jim Murez - 1 vote, Chris Williams - 1 vote, not
specified - 3 votes)
Blank - 10 ballots
* Ratify or reject the GRVNC Board's unanimous decision to amend the
GRVNC Bylaws to permit General
Election meetings to be held in September rather then June: -- RATIFIED!
Results, 105 ballots total:
Confirm - 90 ballots
Reject - 9 ballots
Blank - 6 ballots

2. Los Angeles Planning Commission hearing on MTA/RAD project (Jan 26)
What: Los Angeles Planning Commission Hearing
When: Thursday, January 26, 2005

The LA Planning Commission will consider the RAD/MTA project at the Jan
26 meeting. The GRVNC Land Use and Planning Committee met on
October 17, 2005, and again January 4, 2006, to consider
this project. Their recommendation to reject the project as
presented was approved by the GRVNC Board January 17, 2006.

3. Call for Volunteers
The GRVNC committees and Board are looking for community volunteers to
help. Please email info@grvnc.org if you have time to help with one of
these projects.
- work on a printed newsletter to report on GRVNC activities/issues to
stakeholders (Outreach)
- work on brochure to explain purpose and function of a neighborhood
council and mission of the GRVNC (Outreach)
- assist District Reps to contact stakeholders and groups in their area
(Outreach)
- assist Executive Committee to preparation hand outs at Board Meetings
(Excom)
- help with Town Hall Meeting (Disaster Prep / LUPC)
- help prepare for September 2006 Board Elections (Elections)

5. Town Hall Meeting (Feb 25)
Mark your Calendar! The Disaster Preparedness and Land Use and Planning
Committees
are organizing a Town Hall Meeting for Saturday February 25th, starting
at 10am.
Speakers and schedule are still being finalized but will likely include
Disaster
Preparedness issues from 10am to 12pm followed by speakers on Land Use
and Planning
Issues in the afternoon. Details are still being worked out.
Please send any suggestions for speakers to:

Volunteers would also be greatly appreciated.

6. Grievance Received
The GRVNC Executive Committee received a stakeholder grievance from Mr.
Rick Selan and has referred this matter to the Rules and Elections
Committee. The Rules and Election Committee will review the matter
at its January 24th meeting and prepare a report for the February
Board of Officers meeting.
