6. Pacific Area LAPD Christmas Toy Drive (Dec 16)

This is from Pacific Division LAPD:

Hello All,

Well, the Holidays are right around the corner and it's my favorite time
of year,
especially of the annual Pacific Division TOY Drive. We have confirmed
dates to
give away the toys:

- Oakwood Recreation Center-Friday, Dec. 16th, 7PM to 9pm. We will be
taking the
sleigh out at 4pm through the neighborhoods.

- Mar Vista Gardens-Saturday, Dec. 17th, 7PM to 9PM. We will also take
the sleigh
out at 4pm around the neighborhoods.

We will be taking the sleigh into the communities on Dec. 13, 14, 16 and
17th.
The sleigh routes will be announced by the first week of November and
advertised.

Pacific Area LAPD would like to request that everyone ask their
businesses, friends
and family to donate toys; or to make a donation to "Pacific Area
Boosters" (please
note "Toy Drive" on the check). Toys and checks can be delivered to LAPD
Pacific
Station, 12312 Culver Blvd., as early as Nov. 1st and as late as Dec.
15th, 2005.

Other things we need: volunteers to staff the events and help the kids,
donations
of cookies and drinks for the kids, and anyone having any contacts to
get a generator
that is small and quiet with enough horsepower to lite up the sleigh. If
you would
like to get involved (volunteer at the event, make cookies, donate
drinks, etc.),
please contact neighborhood prosecutor, Gita O'Neill at (310) 202-3825
or via e-mail
at goneill@atty.lacity.org. If you have a generator, please contact Officer
Llanes at (310) 622-3971.

Thank You in Advance for anything you can help us with!!! It is great to
see the faces
of the children light up over the toys and our very own Santa Claus. It
is a great joy
to make a child happy that is not as privileged as some of us so please
get involved.

Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Senior Lead Officer Heidi Llanes (310) 622-3971.
