1) More Special Election Meeting Information

Monday, Feb 28, 5PM - 8PM
Vera Davis Center
610 California Ave
Venice

It is really important to vote in the upcoming
special election! The results of this election
will be taken to the BONC meeting on March 1
(see below) where they will be asked to recognize
a new quorum of 11 people on the board. While
there is no guarantee that they will, the more people
that vote, the more likely BONC will see that this
is an opportunity to ensure the June election takes
place as mandated and there is no need for any delay.
Having a quorum will allow the board to satisfy
DONE requirements for approving election procedures.

To those interested in sitting in one of the 4 open
seats, the term of office would be until the June
election mandated by the GRVNC bylaws. To qualify
for a seat, you must live, work, own property, or
participate in a GRVNC area institution.

Also, the duties of each member are:

Government Relations Officer: Chair Government
  Relations Committee, perform City Oversight
  function, attend Executive Committee Meetings

District 2 Representative: You must reside within
District 2 Boundaries to occupy this seat
  (see http://grvnc.org/NewSite/map.html). Duties
are to appoint a member of the Land Use and Planning
Committee, to sit on the Outreach Committee, and
  attend board meetings.

At-Large Representative: (2 seats available) attend
  board meetings

Please help ensure that GRVNC can move forward
either by running a write-in campaign for
one of the above seats, or by just bringing a neighbor
out to vote on Monday, Feb 28. Send a message to
BONC that you want your Neighborhood Council
back on track for the bylaws mandated June election!
