Letter From Bill Rosendahl RE: People Living in their Vehicles in Council District 11
Bill Rosendahl sent a letter to residents of CD-11 on 7/26/2010 about the progress the City has made on a groundbreaking program to deal with the issue of people living in their vehicles in Council District 11.

This letter contained links to a presentation on the Streets to Homes program and to a draft of an RFP that will be sent by the Los Angeles Housing Services Authority (LAHSA) to service providers in connection with implementing the Streets To Homes Program. According to the presentaion, LAHSA plans to complete the RFP and issue it in mid-August.

Streets To Homes Presentation from Sophia Heller
The Venice Neighborhood Council heard a presentation from Sophia Heller, a consultant to City Council District 11, regarding a “safe overnight parking program,” on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at its regularly scheduled Board Meeting.

Oversize Vehicle Ordinance
The Los Angeles City Council passed a motion on June 29th that prohibited the parking of oversized vehicles between the hours of 2am and 6am on streets where signs restricting such parking have been posted. According to the ordinance, an oversized vehicle was defined to be any motorized vehicle in excess of 22 feet in length or greater than 84 inches high. The ordinance also provided methods for posting of signs restricting oversized vehicle parking.

Santa Barabara “New Beginnings” Site Visit
On February 25th, 2010, a delegation led by CD-11 Council member Bill Rosendahl and consisting of CD11 staff: Jim Horwitz, Mike Bonin, Arturo Pina, Nancy Franco; LAPD Officers Theresa Skinner and Peggy Thusing; and Venice residents David Ewing and Stewart Oscars, visited Santa Barbara to review their RV Parking Program.
A report of the visit, written by David Ewing and Stewart Oscars was presented to the Venice Neighborhood Council at it Board Meeting March 16th, 2010.
