Committee Mission Supporting
Statement:
Acting as a committee
of the Grassroots Venice Neighborhood Council (GRVNC), identify the current
situation of poverty and homelessness in Venice to insure the basic human
rights of all members of the Venice community. Furthermore, we will work to
network with the GRVNC, the Venice community, and other organizations with
similar missions.

Working
to Create Los Angeles ordinance based loosely on Eugene, Oregon ordinance meant
to designate areas, facilities, sanitation dumping for homeless living in
vehicles and provide other legal alternatives

Future Meetings

Next meeting is March 25,
but some committee members expressed an interest to cancel and attend the LAPD
Pacific Division’s Senior Lead Officer Area Summit Meeting, because one of this
Police Meeting’s “Topics of Concern” is HOMELESS ISSUES

Project idea

A regular committee member
expressed interest in using the committee to house people in Venice using the
efforts of the committee
