Whole Foods coming

Appaarently Whole Foods will be moving to the Big Lots, CVS, 99 Cents location at Roseand Lincoln next year. The 99 Cent store is a mojor resource for the lower income and homeless people in Venice. It is always packed with these people who are dependant on its extremely low prices. Somehow we need to address this issue. Can 99 cents stay, or move to another near-by location? Can we get Whole foods to have a super-discount or day-old corner or room? How are these poor people going to have there essential needs met? Can GRVNC somehow get involved in this?

my 99 cents on this issue

I understand that each Whole Foods market is individually designed and I’m sure if possible they would work with a food bank. An example is their Hingham store that donate food to local food banks on a weekly basis: www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/community/HGM.html among other charitable giving programs.

When I’ve been in 99cent store I’ve probably seen more students and professional types looking for bargains than poor families shopping for groceries. It’s hard to beat the prices on basic food items at Ralphs and that’s not going anywhere.
