Venice Neighborhood Council August 19 Special Election

Venice Stakeholders will be asked to ratify five VNC Bylaws changes at a Special Election Meeting to be run concurrently with the VNC Town Hall Meeting on October 23, 2008 from 7 to 9PM at Westminster School Auditorium, 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd.

The items to be voted on are:

Arts Committee meeting Monday Oct 27th at Blankenship Ballet at 6 pm

This month’s Arts Committee agenda will address a single urgent issue. The Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs is developing a “cultural master plan” for Los Angeles and the 11th District is invited to participate at a meeting at the Venice Abbot-Kinney Library on Saturday November 8 from 12:30 until 2.

The notice of this meeting arrived too late to allow the process of N C Board approval for the Arts Committee to speak on behalf of Venice, but we can speak as individuals who serve on the Arts Committee.

The Outreach Committee will hold its monthly meeting MONDAY, October 27, 2008 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Practice Technologies, 1600 Main Street, Venice, CA 90291

The Neighborhood Committee Meets on the first Monday morning of each month at Extra Space Storage, 658 Venice Boulevard in the Community Room.

The Commitee is composed of stakeholders representatives from the various unique neighborhoods in Venice. Our main areas of concern are the Community Improvement Fund program; developing an Emergency Preparedness and Awareness Plan; and serving as the eyes and ears on the Venice Community on issues of concern.

Second Westside Regional Alliance of Neighborhood Councils meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. We will be hosting the meeting at the West Los Angeles Municipal Building – 2nd Floor Hearing Room, 1645 Corinth Ave, Los Angeles 90024

The Alliance is a gathering of 13 Neighborhood Council Presidents, Vice Presidents and Emergency Preparedness leaders

Meeting for November 20 is cancelled.
Next meeting is December 4.

This is THE formal event for Venice Seniors and their not so senior neighbors. Come dance and feast at the Oakwood Rec Center when we take it over for the night!

Formal attire please – so break out those runway dresses and tuxes!
