You are invited to attend a community meeting on the Grand Canal Restoration Project on Wednesday, December 5 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Council District 11 Westchester Field Office, 7166 W. Manchester Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90045 The City of LA proposes to restore the Grand Canal between Washington Boulevard and Ballona Lagoon (just south of Hurricane Street – a total length of about 2,000 feet) with the purpose of improving the natural habitat value of the water and lands of the canal while providing appropriate flood protection, tidal flushing and public access. To reach this goal, the City desires to develop a Master Plan for restoration and long term maintenance.

The merchants of Abbot Kinney and the Venice Neighborhood Council are proud to announce the inaugural “1st Fridays on Abbot Kinney” event. Beginning on June 1, 2007, and continuing on the 1st Friday of every month through November, participating Abbot Kinney businesses will be open until 10pm. The late summer nights will feature Abbot Kinney’s typical fabulous finds with the added addition of each merchant’s respective Venetian desires; drinks, snacks, entertainment, discounts and specials.
