[grvnc.org] BONC sets new Venice Election in September

On Tuesday night at Westminster Elementary,
the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners
approved the work of their Venice Community
Meetings and the Volunteer Election Committee
and set the dates of the GRVNC 2005 Election
for September 10 and 11. The election will be
administered by the League of Women Voters.

Since the remaining GRVNC board members'
terms expire at the end of this month,
including my own, the Volunteer Election
Committee was given the task of organizing the
election, including communication and outreach to
Venice. So you will continue to be informed
by email about all the details of the
upcoming election by that committee.

Also, I would like to say on behalf of
myself and, I am sure, the other remaining
board members, that it has been truly an honor
to serve Venice on the Neighborhood Council
for the last two years. I have never met
anybody who lives here who doesn't know that
this is the best neighborhood of them all.

Thank you.

And I personally hope that the new board seated
after the September election will, as the first
order of business, craft widely accepted
bylaws revisons with a broad based panel
of stakeholders who will consider any and all
creative ideas for ensuring that future boards
represent the diversity of opinion found in Venice.

Tom O'Meara
GRVNC Communications Officer
