1. Meeting of GRVNC Board Members

GRVNC Board members will be assembling to discuss
issues relating to Venice and GRVNC.

Recent opinions from the LA City Attorney have advised
Neighborhood Council Boards that do not have a quorum
to clearly state that no such quorum will exist at the
meeting. The GRVNC board does not currently have a 
recognized quorum.

1. The new rules and regulations 
   for allocating spaces on the
   Boardwalk.
2. How to obtain the permit required 
   by Los Angeles Municipal Code
   (LAMC) Section 42.15.
3. How spaces on the Boardwalk 
   will be allocated for use as
   permitted by (LAMC) Section 42.15.

3. Proposed Increase in the Sewer Service Charge

The City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works, 
Bureau of Sanitation will be holding community 
meetings in each of the seven Neighborhood Service 
Areas to present information about the proposed
Sewer Service Charge rate increase.  This is the 
result of the City's recent landmark settlement 
to end a six-year clean water lawsuit filed
against the City. To hear more about the proposed 
Sewer Service Charge increase, please plan to attend 
the meeting listed below.

4. The City of Los Angeles, Citizens' Unit for 
Participation in Housing and Community Development 
(CUP/HCD) and the Community Development Department 
(CDD) invite the public and all community groups 
to participate in community meetings throughout 
the City of Los Angeles for the purpose of 
responding to the proposed 2005-2006 
Consolidated Plan Budget.

Community feedback is needed to establish priorities 
for federal Community Development Block Grant 
funding in the following areas: Public Services, 
Public Facilities, Neighborhood/Public 
Improvements, Economic Development, and 
Housing.  Funds are primarily to benefit 
low and moderate-income persons.

Community comments will be included in the 
2005-2006 Consolidated Plan and submitted 
to the U.S. Department of Housing and 
Urban Development (HUD).

5. The DWP's Trees for a Green LA is a program 
that benefits the environment by giving away 
5 gallon trees to shade your home.  To
receive a these trees, residents must 
participate in a workshop to learn
about proper tree selection and care.  
There will be a workshop at the
Venice Library on January 13th, from 7 to 9 PM.
