1. June 27 Election and Stakeholder Initiative
###############
#### 1 ####
###############
1. On Thursday, the board voted to approve new
election procedures for the June 27th Elections.
These procedures do not rely on the fast adaptation of
the provisions in the stakeholder initiative that
was voted on on May 6. This allows the June 27
election to stay on track, provided that the
Department of Neighborhood Empowerment approves
these new procedures.
The procedures require the same level of credential
checking as in the just concluded Special Election
and they still prohibit 3rd party absentee ballot
requests. Also, absentee voters need to return a copy
of one of the same credentials with the ballot, just
like all other voters. Also, different is the
requirement that voters only vote for the district
representative where they live, work, own, or
participate. The credential shown will determine
the district in which you get to vote.

2. The board voted to submit the results of the
Initiative Special Election to the Department of
Neighborhood Empowerment as required by DONE, not
directly by the bylaws.
2. The board also voted to send a letter of opinion
to D.O.N.E. with concerns about the Initiative
Election
and asked for help conducting such special elections
in the future.
