Grass Roots Venice Neighborhood Council Announcement
####################################################

Dear Stakeholders:

The GRVNC Town Hall meeting is set for Thursday,
May 6th focusing on the concerns of the youth
in our community. We invite you to participate
in the planning of this event.

Stakeholders are invited to address the concerns
of the youth in Venice at the town hall meeting.
Stakeholders 16 years and older are eligible to
vote in GRVNC elections which are scheduled for
Sunday, June 27th at Westminster Elementary School.

We will start with a meal in the community room
at Oakwood Recreation Center followed by the
Town Hall meeting in the gymnasium. We want to
hear from the youth and invite them to plan
and participate in the Town Hall.

Please contact me no later than Wednesday,
April 21st, if you are interested in
participating in the Town Hall.

I'm looking forward to working with you.
Thank you for your time and interest.

Sincerely,
Suzanne Thompson

At the board meeting on Thursday, April 22, the board
will fill the vacant District 7 Representative Seat.
This is the Canals/Peninsula District and you must
live
in this area to qualify to volunteer for the seat.

See Map: http://grvnc.org/NewSite/map.html

You would serve a short time until the June 27 GRVNC
election when you would need to be elected as a
candidatein order to continue holding the seat. It is

a short time, but for those of you interested in
getting your feet wet before deciding to run for the
full two year term, this is ideal.

The most important task of a district rep is to sit on

the Land Use and Planning Committee which makes
recommendations about development projects proposed
for Venice. You may also appoint somebody to sit on
the committee for you.

Also, District reps sit on the outreach committee and
attend board meetings.

You do not need to be present at the board meeting to
be appointed, but it helps alot. You will be given
time for a one minute statement on why you would like
to volunteer for the position.

Send an email to communications@grvnc.org to put
your name in for consideration by the baord.

Thanks!
Tom

Windward Circle Sculpture

Message from Sandy Kievman, Senior Field Deputy
Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski

Please let your readers know that there will be a
meeting, as required by the Dept. of Cultural Affairs,

for the community to see the sculpture that is being
proposed for the Windward Circle. This is part of an
effort to improve the Windward business area, from
Ocean Front Walk to Main Street. Other proposed
improvements will also be discussed. The
meeting will take place at the Venice Library on
Tuesday, April 27th, at 6:30PM.
