[grvnc] Board Meeting to Consider Bylaws Changes

Grass Roots Venice Neighborhood Council Announcement

The GRVNC board on, April 7, will be considering
these changes to the GRVNC bylaws.

The changes may be grouped into categories:

1) Narrowing claims of stakeholder status 
from those active in organizations
to those organizations with majority Venice residents.

2) Changing to Mar Vista Community Council 
(and many others) practice of requiring only
self-affirmation of stakeholder status.

3) Elimination of post of President and adding new 
post of Third Vice President.

4) Equalizing distribution of work among Executive
Officers

5) Affirming same day voter registration.

6) Allowing board members to remain in office 
during election challenges

7) Splitting the Communication and Outreach Committee 
into two separate committees.

8) Recognition of additional standing committees.

9) Incorporation of Voting Methods Committee report 
into the bylaws, giving GRVNC voters the opportunity 
to vote by Instant Runoff Voting for Single seat
elections and Cumulative voting for At-large seats.

10) Considering stakeholders that are on the LA County
Registrars voter rolls to vote in GRVNC elections.
