This is the first meeting and Venice stakeholder participation is encouraged.
Discussions, ideas, and motions made to the GRVNC Board should be
motivated by principles of basic Human Rights and Civil

TOY DRIVE -HELP NEEDY CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY
Please help the Neighborhood Council make this a happy holiday for children.  
We are collecting toys to be distributed to kids in the 15 Holiday Venice HUD
buildings in Oakwood, and to the children of supermarket workers who
are locked out by their employers or on strike.

Because of economic circumstances, theses parents are not able to
provide for their children during the holidays as they would like.
Let's help! We can help in either of two ways:
 
1.  Contribute toys, either wrapped or not wrapped.  If the toys are wrapped, please
indicate the age level and any other information that would help in
distribution.
 
2.  Bring a check made out to Elena Popp, by Dec.  17.
She is the Secretary of the Neighborhood Council Board, and has agreed
to purchase toys wholesale for this drive.
 
Where to bring the toys or checks:
 
Bring them to the GRVNC Board meeting, beginning at 7 PM,
Wednesday, Dec.  17 at the Oakwood Recreation Center, 767 California
Ave.  Or bring them to the Grass Roots Venice Neighborhood Council
office at the Vera Davis McClendon Community Center, 610 California
Avenue.  The Center is open every weekday and evening, and on Saturday
until 2 PM.
