AGENDA

The Chair of the committee, Tom O'Meara, will be hearing public comments on the composition of the membership of the Elections Committee. The primary motivation for public comment stems from the consideration of a citizen-jury-type of committee where the members are selected at random from the list of GRVNC stakeholders. The other options are to have the committee chair recruit people from the Venice community, manually creating a balance of viewpoints, or a combination of random and recruited.

Proposed Elections

Citizens Deliberative Council

Number of participants: 7
How participants are selected: Randomly from Stakeholder data, with screening criteria
Mandate: To review the current GRVNC Elections Procedure with respect to the DONE task force template and amend and update the procedures to obtain DONE approval
Meeting frequency: weekly for the month of March 2004 then as needed
Facilitation: Paul Ryan, GRVNC representative to DONE task force
Testimony may be considered by the committee. If allowed, testimony must be in the form of constructive critique and not accusation. A procedure for submitting testimony will be developed.
